Hi again honey. OMG! what they say about time healing isnt true at all! I miss you more now than ever! IF only I could touch your hand one more time, IF only I could hear your grand voice, IF I had taken the advantage when I had the chance to let you know I knew what you were saying instead of being afraid the doctors and nurses wouldn't let me come back to be with you if I told you. THERE are so many IFs.. IF I have just one wish for our kids, it will be that they not waste any chances they have to talk, to love and to hold each other, the chances go fast and can never be recovered! I love and miss you so much Mark, I will NEVER get over loosing you, but I know I'll see you again when you and the Lord come for me too.. I love you..

Honey, I am trying to move on, but it's hard, and I will carry you in my heart forever! here is something our older Bryan posted on facebook for me: This is a long, but beautiful read, dedicated to my Mom who lost her husband unexpectedly 2 years ago today: "The Truth About Healing" (by Augustin Burroughs) It's satisfying to see somebody who has gone through adversity come out the other side, healed. But, here's the thing: there are some things in life from which you do not heal. If your child, parent or spouse dies you will never heal. Do not wait for healing to arrive. It will never come. The holes will never leave or be filled with anything at all. But holes are interesting things... As it happens, we human beings are able to live just fine with many holes of many sizes and shapes. And pleasure, love, compassion, fulfillment - these things do not leak out of holes of any size. So we can be filled with holes and loss and wide expanses of unhealed geography - and we can also be excited by life and in love and content at the exact same moment. Though there will always be days, like the weather, when the loss returns fresh and full and we will reside within it once again, for a while. When you lose something or someone that is enormously important to you, there can be an overwhelming desire to stop living. To have no new experiences. To shut down. Huge loss resets you in a way to an earlier time, before you had what it is that you lost. But all you have had, all you have lived, remains in you as part of your existence now. No matter how huge your loss, as long as you remain engaged with your life, the best days are ahead of you. Don't misunderstand: the pain of your loss will remain with you for the rest of your life. But great joy will be there right beside it. Deep sorrow and deep joy can exist within you, side by side. And it's not confusing. And it's not a conflict. The truth about healing is that you don't need to heal to be whole. Because all of us are made not only of what we have, but of what we have lost. And loss is NOT subtraction. As an experience, it's an addition. Even when we lose a leg or an arm, there's not less of us but more. Human experience weighs more than human tissue.

Mark, they say time heals everything, but it's been over two years, and I miss you more now than I did before! I dont think I will ever heal from loosing you, all the "what if's" and "why didn't I" come to my mind! Why didn't I lift you up from the chair that day you begged me to, and I didn't and why didn't I let you know I could read your lips when you were telling me about your mom.. I was afraid of being kicked out of your room for doing what they didn't want me to.. and I wanted to keep seeing you.. we were robbed of some time we could have had together! Although I know you are happy and with Jesus, I still miss you so much! God bless us all.. and hopefully soon we will be together again, when Jesus comes for me too. Hi again honey, I know you already know all I am going to say, because you are all around us, and see and hear what is going on, But I just need to talk to you. We all still miss you so much! Zoey and Aaron are still having a really tough time getting over loosing you , as are me, mel and bryan d.. we all miss you so much! Zoey is wanting to go see you in heaven when I go, when the Lord comes for me.. I have been trying to explain to her and to Aaron that they can't go until God comes back for them. They still are heart broken and want you back, but that is not to be! I'm glad you dont have to physically go through more physical breakdowns any more. It seemed like you would just get over one thing then another popped up. That does not change the fact that I would give anything to see you again, and to pray with you just one more time. I miss you baby, and will be so glad when it's my turn to go to Heaven so we can see each other again, and our kids Ellen and scott too.. today was Ellen's birthday.. 53..seems impossible.. Well honey, I'll hold you in my heart until I can hold you in my arms again... you are with me all the time, and I can feel strength from you and from our Lord Jesus. God bless us all.. Love pauline

He has set his goals high, and continues to get marvelous grades, thanks to your encouragement when you were here! your teachings live on! you always were good at that! Since Heaven has become your home I sometimes feel I'm so alone; and though we now are far apart you hold a big piece of my heart. I never knew how much I'd grieve when it was time for you to leave, or just how much my heart would ache from that one fragment you would take. God lets this tender hole remain reminding me we'll meet again, and one day all the pain will cease when He restores this missing piece. He'll turn to joy my every tear with thoughts of you I hold dear, and they'll become my special way to treasure our Reunion Day.

This Brings Life to mind in it's total reality! God is awesome, and we need to enjoy each day as it's given to us, and love each other! The following words were written by my grand daughter Danielle Kroelinger when she went to a womens' Christian retreat, and it goes like this: During yesterday's worship, I was able to see the leaves free falling from their tree to the ground. Autumn is BEAUTIFUL ! But, seeing the leaves fall also made me think- they will never again clothe the branches of those trees. They had their season and now it is over. In Spring, a new generation of leaves will be displayed across each tree, only to fall to the ground. And, so it is with each of us. For a sweet, short season we are here. We are beautiful and precious to The Lord. But, our time will still come when our season will end. And, for those of us that have trusted in Jesus, we will slowly, free fall into eternity with our Lord, making room for the next generation to make their mark. I have a tendency to make plans and to take things in my hands. May I be more like the leaves on those trees - resting in His light and being consumed by his warmth.

Profile for Mark E. Heorodt: When this poem was written, my wife and I had been recently married. We both believed strongly that God brought us together and would bless us richly. He certainly has as this poem reflects. Our lives "ever twined" are like a rope which has been woven together tightly. We share laugh cry and love with a compassionant understanding. Poetry allows me to express what I can often not express orally, although public speaking is a passion. In addition, the written word points a mental picture for the reader., one that develops slowly as the poem is read, and re-read. How wonderful it is when one reaches the moment of "YES I see it" My wife and I are blessed with two wonderful children. They inspire us regularly. Poem follows:

Mark, Where do I begin? I will never forget the day you and Pauline walked into Ocean Eye for your eye exam. You were sitting their in your green Michigan t-shirt and your jeans with suspenders. Little did I know because of that day, that I would grow such amazing friends. We all had an instant connection. After leaving Ocean Eye, I was lucky enough to continue to see you both at Dr. Gross' office. You were always so cheerful - no matter what you had going on in your life. I will never forget your amazing demeanor and loving personality. You were more than a patient, you both felt like family to me. It's so sad to realize that Mark is gone in physical form, however his spirit lives on. He was such a vibrant person that was very full of life, which makes it even harder to accept. We are all missing you Mark, and you will be especially missed at family gatherings when it's time to say the prayer before our meal. I think we should start a new family tradition of having a moment of silence, while you whisper the blessing in God's ear for us followed by an a-men. You are already missed by family and friends alike.

Hi Mark, It's me again! I just wanted to let you know I miss you and love you. God gave you to me and me to you for 23 wonderful years of marriage. I never regretted it for one moment! We had some difficult times that would have torn other couples apart! the loss of a son, daughter and mom, and during those times we held each other up. If I hadn't had you in my life I could not have made it through these times, and through the loss of your mom, that was hard! but God gave you the strength you needed, and hopefully with the love we shared you were able to make it. Now it's your turn to rest. You are with Jesus, your mom and our kids, your other family members! My life will not ever be the same and I look forward to the day we can be reunited on the other side of the Crystal Sea. God bless you my love, and I'll see you when Jesus comes back for me too!

I must say that in our little spring break adventure to Daytona Beach Mark was the sane guy. There were four of us girls and Mark and Scott Weir, who let us drive his ancient Dodge on that 24 hour trip. We got lots of sun, had a lot of fun, and enjoyed a beautiful Easter sunrise service on the beach before heading back home. It was always a joy to be around Mark--such a sweet, nice guy. Tragic for him to have such a short time here on earth with us. My best to the family--you will be in my prayers. Much love!
